Constables honoured

Constables attached to the police control room - S R Rashmi, Basav­araju and Vasudevachar were honoured by City Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji on Saturday, as their swift action on complaints led to solving the crimes immediately.

According to the police, immediate reaction by S R Rashmi and quick action by the Indiranagar police ensured the release of a youth who was allegedly abducted by a five-member gang recently.

Vinay, the victim, was returning home in Indiranagar around 1 am. They allegedly abducted him in their car and asked his friend Lohit over phone to come to Hotel Leela Palace with Rs 50,000. Lohit called control room, 100 and narrated the incident. Rashmi immediately contacted the Indiranagar police who arrested the suspects.

In another incident, complainant Vasanthi Bai said she forgot to collect her bag which contained two gold bangles, two gold chains, a cellphone and Rs 5,000 in the autorickshaw.

She gave the number of the autorickshaw. Basavaraju and Vasudevachar contacted the Adugodi police who recoverd the bag.
