A six-year-old boy, who was missing since Wednesday, was fished out dead from a drain in north-east Delhi on Sunday morning, police said.

Sameer, who was living along with his father Mohammad Shabbir at Khajuri Khas area, went missing on Wednesday afternoon. His father, unable to find him, approached police and registered a missing complaint.

Police too were unable to trace the missing kid for last five days. On Sunday morning, a passerby informed police that a body of a small kid was floating in a drain. “We rushed to the spot and took the body out. It was sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for postmortem,” said a senior police officer.

When asked about the motive behind the murder, police said they 'cannot say anything right now’. “We are questioning neighbours and relatives. The investigation is on,” said the officer.
