Moderate quake jolts Kashmir Valley

 A moderate intensity earthquake jolted the Kashmir Valley today but there was no immediate report of damage or casualty.

"An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on the Richter Scale occurred today at 7.29 pm with the epicentre at India-China border in Ladakh region of the state," an official of the disaster management cell said.

He said the epicentre of the quake was approximately 496 kms North-East of Srinagar.
There were no reports of any damage due to the tremor so far, he added.
