B'lore police given custody remand of 4 IM modules

 A Delhi court has remanded four of the nine IM modules, arrested for their suspected roles in various terror cases across the country, to the Karnataka police custody to ascertain their roles in the April 2010 Chinnaswami Stadium blast case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav gave the custody of Aftab Alam alias Farooq, Mohammed Qatil Siddqui, Gayur Ahmed Jamali and Gohar Aziz Khumani to Bangalore Central Crime Branch.

The Bangalore Central Crime Branch had approached the court seeking their custody to probe their roles in the stadium blast case.

The Special Cell had arrested alleged IM operatives Mohammed Qatil Siddqui, Gohar Aziz Khumani, Mohammed Adil, Abdur Rehman, Mohammed Irshad, Gayur Ahmed Jamali and Aftab Alam and had accused them of being involved in various terror attacks across the country including the Pune German Bakery blast, Bangalore's Chinnaswami Stadium blast, the Jama Masjid shooting and September 7 blast at the Delhi High Court.

Of the nine alleged IM men, 50-year-old Qafeel was arrested recently from Bihar and was remanded in police custody till March 6.

Earlier this month, Mohd Tarique Anjuman, claimed to be founder-member of Indian Mujahideen, was apprehended from suburbs of Patna.
