A Legislative Assembly committee set up to probe three former ministers who were caught watching porn clips inside the House, held its first meeting on Wednesday.

However, all the three members of the Opposition parties appointed to the panel, stayed off the meeting.

Speaking to reporters, committee chairman Srishilappa Virupakshappa Bidarur said the panel had decided to convene the next meeting on February 29.

He urged three other members of the committee, who have refused to associate themselves with the panel, to extend their co-operation in completing the task entrusted to them.

“The House has given the committee a responsible job to probe an issue. I appeal to them (the three members) to participate in the meeting and throw light on the proceedings of the House,” Bidarur said. The committee has to submit its report on Lakshman Savadi, C C Patil and Krishna Palemar by March 13.

The three have already submitted their replies to a show-cause notice.
