KSRTC champions

Spurred by Abdul Rehman’s brilliant show, KSRTC Sports Club posted a facile nine-wicket win over Food Corporation of India in the final of the Dell-KSCA Group I, Division III knockout tournament at the NRA grounds on Friday.

Foot Corporation, batting first, were shaken up from the word go as Rehman ran through their batting line up with ease. Rehman scalped eight wickets while conceding a mere 25 runs as Food Corporation were bundled out for a paltry 74 in 13.2 overs. JR Srinivas, who scored 38 runs, was the top-scorer for Food Corporation.

In reply, KSRTC got off to a steady start with Manjunath (28) and Santhosh Kumar S (26 not out) milking Food Corporation’s bowlers. KSRTC lost the wicket of Manjunath, but managed to scale the target in 14 overs with no twists in the tale to claim the crown.
