Meet on Legislature TV channel today

Speaker K G Bopaiah has convened a high-level meeting on Tuesday to discuss the feasibility of a proposal to telecast the legislature proceedings through an exclusive channel of the Legislature.

Presiding officers of both the Houses of Legislature, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister S Suresh Kumar, Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas, Prasar Bharati and Broadcast Engineering Consultants will be present at the meeting, sources said.

The proposal to launch a separate channel, which was pending for years, is being considered in the wake of the recent porngate, which led to resignation of three ministers found watching the obscene video clippings in the session. The proposed Legislature channel will provide clippings of the proceedings to private TV channels.
