JOIN USIt was high quality quizzing. From the pages of Veda to the mystery of the Purple chip, everything was cracked at the Sixth Tata Crucible Business Quiz 09, Bangalore regional final held here recently.
Unlike the previous year's competition, where the winners had to battle it out till the third or fourth round of tie breakers, this year the Yahoo India team from Bangalore reached the winning post comfortably with a 5 point lead after five rounds.
The final round was nail-biting. The difference of points between Yahoo team of Thejaswi Udupa and Ajay Kasargod and the runner-up team of Prasad Shetty and Shambu Shankar of Kotak Life Insurance in the fourth round was just 10.
Sixteen teams from all across the nation will compete in the Bangalore finals at the national level competition to be held in the last week of September. Yahoo team represented Bangalore in 2007.
“If I start preparing for the quiz, then I will lose the joy of quizzing. It's just a matter of recalling what you had read and seen,” said Thejaswi. His partner Ajay added: “You cannot have syllabus for a quiz, so how does one prepare for it? Even in the finals, I will just enjoy it like a competition as I did today.”
Even the audience who had gathered at the St John’s Auditorium had a great time as many of them won gift hampers, as the questions that the teams could not answer were thrown at them.
