Passengers of Spicejet flight have a tough time

Passengers of a Pune-bound SpiceJet flight from Jaipur were allegedly ill treated at the Ahmedabad airport and asked to deplane by the airline staff who said the aircraft had to be sent to Delhi for a mandatory technical check-up of its engines.

Passengers claimed that the flight (SIG 345) left Jaipur as per schedule last evening but landed at Ahmedabad airport, where they were asked to deboard and when they confronted the airline staff, they were manhandled.

The airline in a statement accepted that "Ahmedabad-Pune flight (SG 345) got delayed by about one hour yesterday at the Ahmedabad airport due to some technical glitches."

A SpiceJet spokesperson said, "The aircraft had to be swapped in Ahmedabad as the plane had to undergo a mandatory technical check-up which could be carried out only at the base which is Delhi, so we provided a different aircraft for the passengers to travel to Pune.

"In the process of replacement of aircraft, the flight to Pune got delayed by about one hour and we regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to late departure. For SpiceJet, safety of its passengers is of the highest priority," the spokesperson said but did not explain how a plane scheduled for a mandatory technical check-up was deployed.
