JOIN USAn assistant engineer of the BWSSB and three other workers were beaten up allegedly by a gang of miscreants in Kempegowda Nagar on Wednesday, police said.
Assistant Engineer A Nagaraj, valveman Muddaiah, and two other workers were manhandled reportedly by Mahesh, an alleged goon, and his associates when the former were replacing water and sanitary pipes at K G Nagar. The suspects, BWSSB said, were against the replacement of the pipes as they claimed it would make water dirty.
An injured Nagaraj lodged a complaint with the police who have booked a case of criminal intimidation, causing voluntary hurt by dangerous means or weapons, hurting a public servant to deter him from doing his duty, etc, under Sections 232, 324, 332, 352, 506 (B) read with 34 of the IPC.
