CM's wife injured in road accident

Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda’s wife Datty escaped with minor injuries in an accident that occurred near Mududi village in Gandasi hobli in Arsikere on Friday afternoon.

Sources said Datty was on her way to Narasimharajapura via Chikmagalur from Bangalore in a car to see her husband campaigning for the bypoll in the Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency.

At around 12.30 pm, a calf came in the path of the vehicle all of a sudden. The driver applied brakes immediately. Datty, who was sitting in the back seat suffered rib injuries.

The jeep following her vehicle also rammed into the car.

Datty was treated at a private hospital in Arsikere and left for Chikmagalur at around 1.15 pm. Though she was supposed to take the Hassan-Chikmagalur route, she travelled via Channarayapatna-Arsikere-Chikmagalur.
