Last Updated 10 March 2012, 21:00 IST

Thousands of BJP workers on Saturday courted arrest while on their way to Prime Minister’s residence demanding dismissal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

The protestors were later freed. The workers under the leadership of Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta had earlier assembled at the Ramlila Maidan.

The protestors marched through Ranjit Singh flyover, Tolstoy Marg and Jantar Mantar where they were finally stopped by police.

Besides Gupta, Leader of the Opposition in Delhi State Assembly prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra, BJP national general secretary Vijay Goel and others were also part of the demonstration.

No action, even after FIR

Gupta said even after 100 hours of registration of an FIR for getting his daughter admitted with the help of a forged certificate and a forged marksheet, Congress legislator Tarvinder Singh Marwah has not been arrested.

“Marwah has not be arrested despite a case. The chief minister of Delhi is making attempts to suppress the case. Hence, it is necessary that CBI should enquire into the case,” said Gupta.

If CBI starts investigation, then many scams can be unearthed and the corrupt face of the Congress will be exposed, he added.

BJP president alleged that the rights of the youth and students of Delhi are being denied.
A general student does not get admission and Congress legislator managed admission with the help of government pressure.

BJP national general secretary Vijay Goel alleged that despite being involved in several scams, Dikshit manages to escape as Congress is ruling in both state and the Centre.

Gupta announced that the BJP will make the Marwah’s arrest campaign more aggressive with the help of people of Delhi.
