Manifold growth in Maya's wealth

Outgoing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s properties have grown virtually “faster than the time”.

Her properties grew from Rs 12 crore in 2004 to Rs 111 crore in 2012. The growth in the last two years was Rs 24 crore.

It has more than doubled during the last five years.

Her affidavit filed along with her Rajya Sabha nomination papers also reveals her well known love for diamonds.

She has 388 carats of diamonds, one kilogram of gold and a silver dinner set worth Rs 20 lakh.

Mayawati owns immovable properties worth Rs 96 crore that comprise a house in Delhi worth Rs 62 crore and a house in Lucknow worth Rs 15 crore and two shops in Delhi.

No vehicle
She has Rs  10.25 lakh of cash in bank and bank deposits of Rs 14.94 crore. Mayawati has no vehicle.

She does not possess agriculture and non-agriculture lands, according to the affidavit.

In 2010 Mayawati had disclosed assets worth Rs 87 crore in movable and immovable assets.

The BSP leader’s properties have shown a sharp increase during the past eight years.

In  2007, she had declared in an affidavit that she owned movable and immovable assets worth about Rs  52 crore. 

In the 2004 Rajya Sabha elections, she had stated that she had assets worth over Rs 12 crore.
