A moment to remember

Poignant ceremony

It was a proud moment as the pre-university students of the Indian Academy PU College graduated in style.

proud The graduating PUC students of the Indian Academy.

At the end of two years, most students felt that they were moulded into wholesome individuals. They were glad that their choice of college was good.

The programme began with an invocation song and the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. The college magazine titled, ‘Reflections’ was released on the occasion by the chairman of the Academy, Dr Somasekhar and the first copy was handed over to Nithya Rajesh, magazine chief editor. The team that worked on the magazine was appreciated for its effort in putting together an interesting mix of articles.

The boys were dressed in formal blazers and the girls came draped in saris. They did well to match their jewellery to their attire. There was an air of confidence and conviction about them.

Dr T Somasekhar and  Bharathi T honoured the meritorious students with certificates and medals. The award for the best outgoing student was bagged by Anusha and Mythri, both second year students.

Addressing the students, T Somasekhar encouraged them to pursue higher studies with an emphasis on research. The programme concluded with the faculty members singing and blessing the students with the song, ‘Showers of Blessings’. Soon after this, the students pledged an oath to be loyal and responsible citizens of the college and of the society at large.

Talking about his experience, Aman, a second year student said that after his schooling, he was excited when his parents gave him the permission to study elsewhere. “I came to Bangalore and was impressed with the infrastructure in the college.

The best part about the two years that I spent here was the warmth I got from the faculty members. The college atmosphere has helped boost my confidence. It has motivated me to work hard with all dedication and sincerity,” said Aman.
