PU student ends life

A second-year PU student hanged herself from a fan at her house on Friday afternoon in KR Puram police limits. The deceased has been identified as Manjula (18), a resident of Devasandra.

According to police, Manjula was the daughter of Sriramappa and Lakshmamma, his second wife.

His drinking habit is said to have been a source of constant fights between him and his first wife Govindamma, a mother of four children.

On Thursday, Sriramappa allegedly came home drunk and created a ruckus.

Police said this may have driven Manjula to take the extreme step. She had written her first examination on Thursday.
