Honour killing: Mahadeva remanded in JC

Mahadeva, accused of strangling his sister Smriti to death was produced before a court on Saturday and has been remanded in judicial custody till March 31.

Mahadeva had been remanded in five days police custody after his surrender on March 15.

However, in a sudden development, he  complained of stomach ache at Nazarbad police station on Saturday, where he had been lodged.

He was treated at K R Hospital and was produced before the court. Smriti, a lingayat was strangled to death by Mahadeva and his relative Shivu on Tuesday, for marrying Sudeep Kumar, a dalit.
