Colonial exhibition proves a hit

Curtains came down on the fortnight-long event on Saturday at the old Law College, organised by the Indian Council of Historical Research, Southern Regional Centre, to mark 200 years since the establishment of Bangalore Cantonment by the British in 1809. Apart from 62 rare photos, documents, jottings and articles were displayed here.

During the valedictory programme, Dr Basavaraj N Akki spoke on `Urban administration in the Princely State of Mysore,’ while Dr S Srinivas, Assistant Editor of `Quarterly Journal of Mythic Society’ spoke on `Municipal administration system of Old Bangalore and British Cantonment.’
