Tribute to actor Ashwath

A unique tribute is being paid to K S Ashwath, one of the finest character actors the Kannada film industry had ever produced, on March 25 at 4 pm at Kalamandira, on the occasion of his 88th birth anniversary.

The programme titled ‘Karmayogi Namma Chamaiah Meshtru, will be a mix of songs  and dance from his films. The music is by Gururaj, Sound of Music, Bangalore fame and dances are by Vijaya Murthy of Narthana Shala and Chamaraj, Master Blaster Dance Group, Mysore. Phtographs of Ashwath will be unveiled by director of Information department K S Bevina Marada and Kannada and Culture and Information department secretary Basavaraju will light the lamp. Addressing a press meet here  on Wednesday, Shankar Aswath,the actor’s son said, “various programme will be conducted in memory of my father.

His memorable events, his interactions with fellow actors and interviews of many people with whom he shared time, will be screened there. Photo exhibition is also organised and a biography feature will be there. Live music and dance to songs from his movies will be performed,” he said. Shankar, Muralidhar and Sudarshan were present.

Simple man

A simple man, Ashwath, won the hearts of millions of his fans  by following the ideals and principles throughout his life in an industry where glamour and false pride rule.
