Just a cosmetic touch

A lot was expected from the chief minister. There was a talk of emphasis on youth in the budget, but it has remained only an assurance.

There is no mention of strengthening Lokayukta.

Even though the budget is claimed to have crossed one Rs lakh crore mark, the State revenue out of this is just Rs 85,000 crore. As per the budget, debt stands at Rs 1.14 crore by the end of 2013.

Ever since the BJP came to power, debts have increased by Rs 45,000 crore due to non-productive expenditure. BJP is only giving a cosmetic touch.

The budget nowhere talks of drought. The chief minister is competing with former chief minister Yeddyurappa in presenting a huge budget.
