JOIN USAmidst flashing laser lights in myriad colours and the mild strains of the flute, the premier team of the Karnataka Premier League, Bangalore Brigadiers was launched by its owners, the Brigade Group. The event opened with a spectacular dance performance along with the laser show, after which the dignitaries lit the lamp. The chief guest for the day was Transport Minister R Ashok.
The event was attended by some of Bangalore’s prominent citizens and sportspersons. The highlight of the evening was the introduction of the team members of the Bangalore Brigadiers, which featured some of Karnataka’s most talented young cricketers.
The team logo came in a blue background with two crossed golden yellow cricket bats, a cricket ball below the bats and a cricket helmet just above the bats. The team’s jersey is also dominated by blue with streaks of orange. The team video is energetic and zabardast. The team’s website was also launched on the occasion and has all the information pertaining to the team. All these were unveiled by the dignitaries.
“I am happy that the Brigade Group is taking part in cricket and not confining itself to building flats. It is nice to see that the Group is giving youngsters an opportunity to showcase their talent. Youngsters require this kind of encouragement,” said R Ashok.
The owner of the team and Brigade Group CMD, M R Jaishankar said, “The Brigade Group is thrilled to be a part of this exciting adventure and is looking forward in partnering the growth of sport in our State. I wish my team all the very best.” He described his team as ‘bombaat’.
The entire team also walked the ramp. As each player came on stage, the audience cheered and whistled for the team. There were extra cheers for Captain Deepak Chougule and Vice-Captain Robin Uthappa. Deepak said he was confident of his team and hopes to win. The event came to an end with the team and the dignitaries posing for a photoshoot.
