<p>Memories of the fire at Carlton Towers two years ago linger on for the residents of Indiranagar.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Some of them took to the streets on Sunday to remedy the sense of helplessness they felt that day. “While people were dying, all us just stood there doing nothing.<br /><br />There was no one to control the crowd and that delayed critical emergency services from reaching the spot,” said Sunil Gupta. Gupta was part of the walk organised by Civil Defence Indiranagar Ward to create awareness among fellow residents about disaster management. The walk started from the Indiranagar Flyover and pass through CMH Road before ending at Indiranagar double road. <br /><br />Techies with children in tow participated in good number. They distributed pamphlets with information about disaster management and spoke to the residents about the need to know more about disaster management. Most participants said the Carlton fire was the reason they decided to take part in the walk. Divisional Warden, Civil Defence Cavita Mehra said that people with disaster management skills could have helped the police in crowd control in such a situation. </p>
