JOIN USThe 24 hour protest staged by JD(S) District Unit President V P Shashidhar against the illegal sand mining in the district has received overwhelming response.
This has created fear in the hearts of those involved in the illegal activity, said party’s district convenor S I Muneer Ahmed.
In a press release, he has said that the protest which was staged in front of the DC’s office on Friday was successful and a few people from Shirangala village who are gaining profit from the mining have staged a protest against V P Shashidhar’s claim.
The illegal mining in the district is taking place by violating all the policies and rules of the government. Crores of rupees royalty that should go to the state exchequer has been lost. The district administration should wake up and take immediate action, he demanded.
