Last Updated 30 March 2012, 18:15 IST

The city which has been witnessing soaring temperature in the recent past received mild showers for awhile on Friday evening.

Sources at Naganahalli Agriculture Research and Meteorological Centre told Deccan Herald, with the temperature crossing highest of 37.5 degree celsius, according to the reports on Thursday (March 29), rainfall was expected.

In the corresponding period last year, the temperature had touched 35 degree celsius. The same year had recorded depression in temperature, also the first in the recent past.

However, Friday’s showers could be a prelude to further rise in temperature in the coming days, cautioning people to carry an umbrella.

The seasonal rainfall was to precede Ugadi festival, but the cloud had not deposited thus postponing the chances of rainfall.

While D Devaraj Urs road, Shivarampet, Sayyaji Rao road, Seetavilas road and Ramavilas Road, Kuvempunagar and surrounding areas received showers, it was exactly opposite in the case of some other localities where only the clouds had deposited blowing cold breeze.
