A brawl among three students of a medical college ended in murder at Cholarapalya on Saturday.

Neeraj, 23, a first year BPharma student at St John’s Medical College in Vijayanagar was stabbed to death by one of his classmates, police said.

Neeraj, Ruby, and Theertharaj, both 21, from Nepal, were staying in a rented accommodation. Neeraj allegedly had not been paying his share of the rent and would use clothes, cigarettes and books of his friends. Also didn’t do his share of work in the room - all of which enraged his roommates, the police said.

During the altercation over the issue, Neeraj slapped Theertharaj, who retaliated by stabbing him with a kitchen knife.

However, when the realisation dawned on him, it was too late. Though they shifted him to a hospital immediately, he was declared brought dead, the police said.

The Magadi Road Police have registered a case and arrested Theertharaj and Ruby. Neeraj’s body has been shifted to Victoria Hospital.

As the youth don’t have any relatives in the City, the police are trying to contact their family members and alerted the relatives of one of them.
