Ironically, the KFCC has been vociferous about the launch of Bollywood movies in the State that are earing into the revenues of the Kannada movies.

No addresses
“As we do not have the addresses of the directors who produce Bollywood movies, we have no choice but to book the KFCC which is instrumental in publicising the movies,” said a Palike official.

Accordingly, once the KFCC has been charged under the section, the film chamber will then pass on the penalty levied and the charges onto the Bollywood director.
Meanwhile, apart from Kaminey, two other producers of Kannada movies have been also booked under the same Act. South Indian movie star, Arjun Sarja, the producer of  “Vayuputra” and Amarnath Hegde the producer of “Husharu” have been charged with defacing public walls in the City. All the three were booked for publicising their movies through posters pasted along the Mekhri Circle underpass in the city.
The BBMP had earlier charged producers of the same Kannada movies under a drive to clear the City of disfigurement caused by movie posters in Gandhinagar and Majestic areas.

Even some of the new public organisations like the Civic Front has been booked by the Palike under the same Act.
