The second edition of the ‘Best of India Jewellery Show’ (‘BIJS’) was inaugurated on Friday at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds by Bollywood actress and the brand’s ambassador, Raveena Tandon.

Jointly organised by ‘The Art of Jewellery’ and Jewellers’ Association Bengaluru, the four-day exhibition features some of the finest jewellery from across the country.

While addressing the media, Raveena said that she was eagerly looking forward to the exhibition. “I am impressed by the vast collection over here. It’s the right time to own some gold as the marriage season is going on. The expo has opened a window of opportunities for those who want to buy the best and the finest jewellery from all over India,” she said.

“I personally believe purchasing gold on ‘Akshay Tritiya’ is auspicious. Let men invest money in gold so that women can flaunt it,” she joked.

Around a hundred jewellery brands have put up stalls showcasing the best of their collections. Focussing on customers, jewellery connoisseurs and jewellers, the expo has a wide range, offered at affordable prices.

A variety of designs in silver, gold and diamond jewellery, ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs two crore, are the main attractions here. Jewellery in various patterns – simple, heavy, antique, kundan, decorative and designer wear are attracting customers.

Brands like Abaran, Apranje, Neelkanth, Geethanjali, Amrapali, Nikhaar, Raj Diamonds,
Diamond Mantra, Kirtilal, Arnav and many more have displayed their finest collections at the expo.

Jewellers from Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai and Amritsar, among other places, have put up their stalls.

Petra, a Czechoslovakian national, said she was impressed by the collection at the expo.
“It’s a huge fair and each stall is offering a different pattern. I wanted to purchase a ring but I learnt that there is no discount on the purchase. So, I have taken the shop’s address so that I can buy the item from there itself,” she said.

Meena Kumar, a housewife, found a much sought-after neckpiece at one of the stalls. “My search for a kundan neckpiece came to end today when I found this exotic piece in a stall from Jaipur. I can wear it with many saris as it has precious stones of various colours,” she said excitedly.

There are daily contests, lucky dip contests and free seminars to make the exhibition more exciting and interesting.

‘Best of India Jewellery Show’ is on till April 9 at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds.
