Briefing media persons here on Tuesday, Samiti President Shrikara Damle said that Srinatha Marathe’s 40 years of contributions in the field of classical music is noteworthy.
 “Marathe has been identified as a symbol of prestige in the field of classical music.
He had taught classical music to innumerable desciples in the district,”   he added.

Classical music concert
A Karnataka Classical Music Evening programme will be presented by the desciples of Marathe as part of the programme on same day at 4 pm.
Vidwan Ravi Tilak will play the Mridangam while Padigaru Shridhara Achar will recite violin for the concert, he said.
Damle said that Marathe will be felicitated at the Guruvandana programme which will commence at 5 pm. Mangalore City Corporation  (MCC) Mayor M Shanker Bhat will preside over the programme.
Sri Santha Bhadragiri Achuthadasa will deliver the blessings while noted critic Dr M Prabhakar Joshi will deliver the felicitation address, Shrikara Damle added.
