Officials directed to initiate steps to supply water

District in-charge secretary Dr Rajkumar Khatri directed the officials to see to it that there is no shortage of water in the district. “Measures should be taken to supply water to those areas which face acute shortage of water, he said.

Speaking at a review meeting here at Old Fort hall, he said the executive engineers and CMC commissioner should ensure adequate supply of water.

He directed Cesc executive engineer to provide electricity connection to drinking water projects without delay.

Khatri said nutritious food should be supplied to anganwadi centres. The new menu should be supplied to children. Women and child welfare officers should see that all kids get nutritious food in the district.

He also collected information on how many applications received by the revenue, food and civil supplies, civic administration, women and child welfare, health, education, transport and panchayat raj departments after Sakala was implemented in the district.

Additional deputy commissioner K M Chandre Gowda said the revenue department was getting applications seeking caste and income certificates. All tahsildars are disposing the files by issuing the certificates within a stipulated time.

DDPI N A Ramaswamy, RTO Habeebulla Khan, women and child welfare deputy director Vijayalakshmi Shenoy, Aids nodal officer Dr K G Siddaiah, ZP executive engineer Manjunath, CEO and others were present.
