A private complaint was filed in the Special Lokayukta Court on Friday against Director General of Police, CID, Rupak Kumar Dutta accusing him of violating departmental rules and criminal breach of trust. The matter has been posted to April 18 for orders.

The complaint filed by Mallesh, a farmer and a Raitha Sangha leader, says Dutta enrolled for a three-year regular law course from June 2009 at Arunodaya Institute of Legal Studies, but did not obtain prior permission from the government.

The act amounted to not only violation of departmental rules, procedures and code of conduct, but also amounted to criminal breach of trust, criminal misconduct and cheating.

Further, the complainant states that he wrote his exams after fulfilling the criteria of 70 per cent attendance at the school, but as the ADGP of Lokayukta, he could not have taken off from his job.

The complainant states that he forced the college authorities to submit a forged attendance certificate to the university and therefore abused his official position.
