Y Lingo

Last Updated 09 September 2009, 13:49 IST

It’s a whole new generation out there, with their own way of thinking, dressing and reacting. What’s more they have their own language, which sounds familiar yet very alien to many of us. Every week Metrolife features one common lingo used  by the Gen Y.

Wassup or What’s up?: No, don’t look above. This lingo is used to ask a person on the latest news or what’s going on in that person’s life. When used in a sentence, it’s as simple as, “Hey, wassup?”.

Often one observes that the lingo is even used as a form of greeting. It is often followed by a handshake or a high-five. This short and sweet lingo is commonly used while sending text messages as well.
