<p>The commission agents of grain market went on a strike on Saturday to protest against the Haryana government decision to impose a ban on purchase of wheat from Punjab farmers.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The district administration of Ambala directed procurement agencies not to purchase wheat brought by farmers from Punjab.<br /><br />Due to shortage of storage space, the Haryana government had put a ban on procurement of wheat from Uttar Pradesh farmers. <br /><br />Protesting agents did not allow procurement agencies to purchase wheat at the grain market. <br /><br />Many farmers coming from villages of Ambala could not sell their crop.<br /><br />Around 75 per cent of the wheat in the grain market comes from the villages of Punjab, said Dooni Chand, president of Ambala Anjamadi Arthiya Association Danipur. <br /><br />"If this order is not withdrawn the farmers and the commission agents will be hit hard," he added. <br /></p>
