The charred body of Supratim Bose, who ran a computer business from an office on Cornfield Road, along with those of his father Sudesh Bose, wife Sangeeta and two daughters Sarani and Saheli were found in the room of the 1600 sq m, first floor flat at the three-storey Gangotri Apartment, police sources said.

The body of the wife bore a head injury and most of the bodies were found lying on the floor, the sources said.

The body of their pet Labrador was found outside the room. The family members returned home after 9:30 pm last night.

Neighbours at the building informed the Regent Park police station after hearing a loud sound following which a blaze broke out.

Three fire tenders brought the fire under control.Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh, who visited the spot, said forensic experts were on the scene.
"The matter is subject to investigation and details can only be known only after the post-mortem and forensic reports are received," Ghosh said.

Neighbours hinted that the Bose family was in a debt trap from huge bank loans which often resulted in quarrels among themselves.
