Shiva and Kumar had married the daughters of Byrappa who owns property worth crores of rupees. Byrappa had divided it equally among his two daughters and a son. Kumar, a wholesale vegetable dealer, was unhappy because Shiva’s wife got a few property located in prime areas, said the police.

With an eye on the wealth, Kumar hatched a plan to kill Shiva. He approached Faizal and informed him about his plan. Faizal introduced him to Senthil and others. They struck a deal for Rs 10 lakh and Kumar gave an advance of Rs 5 lakh to Faizal and Senthil.

Raghunath and others were assigned with the task, while Faizal and Senthil stayed away.
Raghunath, along with his associates Srinivas, Satish and Prashanth hatched the conspiracy and decided to execute the murder.

On February 17, around 7 pm, they called Shiva and asked him to supply water. Shiva went to Begur along with a tractor.

Shiva followed the tractor on his two-wheeler. As soon as he reached Begur, four men came on two bikes and attacked him with machetes and knives. The tractor driver, who noticed the attack, tried to rescue his owner Shiva.

But Shiva succumbed to injuries. His family members filed a complaint with the Electronics City police.
