<p>The injured, M K Shivanand and M K Mahesh are brothers of the deceased. <br />They have been shifted to NIMHANS, Bangalore for treatment.<br />The police said there was a wordy duel between Shivanand, a friend of Satish and three others over a trivial issue at around 11:30 pm. <br /><br />In the melee, Shivanand was assaulted by the rival gang. <br />At that time, police intervened and brokered peace.<br />Subsequetly, Shivanand complained to Satish who along with his two brothers questioned the accused, Nitin Gowda, ‘Chape’ Mahesh, ‘Gudde’ Manjunath, Achari ‘Cable Dadi’ Mahesh, Girish, ‘Tata; Anil and Sudhir for assaulting Shivanand. <br /><br />Attack<br />This ensued in verbal duel followed by fighting. The accused assaulted Satish and his brothers with sharp weapons. <br />While Satish died on the spot, his brothers were grieviously injured. <br />The assailants however are at large.<br /><br />Medical Education and District-in-charge Minister Ramachandra Gowda, DC Aiyappa and other senior district officials paid their last respects.<br />IGP (Southern Range) Jeevankumar V Gaonkar along with Superintendent of Police Koushalendra Kumar visited the spot. <br />The police have launched a manhunt to trace the whereabouts of the accused. A case has been booked. <br /></p>
