BJP leader killed, 2 hurt in group clash

The injured, M K Shivanand and M K Mahesh are brothers of the deceased.
They have been shifted to NIMHANS, Bangalore for treatment.
The police said there was a wordy duel between Shivanand, a friend of Satish and three others over a trivial issue at around 11:30 pm.

In the melee, Shivanand was assaulted by the rival gang.
At that time, police intervened and brokered peace.
Subsequetly, Shivanand complained to Satish who along with his two brothers questioned the accused, Nitin Gowda, ‘Chape’ Mahesh, ‘Gudde’ Manjunath, Achari ‘Cable Dadi’ Mahesh, Girish, ‘Tata; Anil and Sudhir for assaulting Shivanand.

Attack
This ensued in verbal duel followed by fighting. The accused assaulted Satish and his brothers with sharp weapons.
While Satish died on the spot, his brothers were grieviously injured.
The assailants however are at large.

Medical Education and District-in-charge Minister Ramachandra Gowda, DC Aiyappa and other senior district officials paid their last respects.
IGP (Southern Range) Jeevankumar V Gaonkar along with Superintendent of Police Koushalendra Kumar visited the spot.
The police have launched a manhunt to trace the whereabouts of the accused. A case has been booked.
