<p>Elected representatives and officials faced a few tense moments as Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda was served distilled water during his visit to Malemahadeshwara Hill on Saturday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The chief minister offered prayers at the temple atop the hill and then went to the Salur mutt for breakfast. During breakfast, he was given a bottle of distilled water by mistake. By the time the mutt staff realised the slip-up, Gowda, his wife Datty, and MLC K R Mallikarjunaiah had consumed the water. The doctors who were immediately summoned checked the three and declared that there was no problem, as distilled water was more pure than mineral water.<br /><br />CM criticises media<br /><br />Sadananda Gowda criticised the media for its reports on his visit to Chamarajnagar district.<br /><br />Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the temple, he said: “I am doing a thorough review of the drought situation in the district. In spite of this, media has called my visit as an eyewash.”</p>
