Miraculous escape for riders

A mini bus belonging to the forest department rammed into three two-wheelers on Hunsur road causing injuries to motorists on Monday.

The incident occurred at around 8.30 am when the mini bus rammed into the two-wheelers. Three riders Prasad, Kavyashri and Sudha Urs suffered minor injuries. The driver of the mini bus tried to escape but public caught him and handed him over to the police.  House raided

Police raided a house allegedly being used for prostitution in Dattagalli and arrested 14 persons including four women here on Monday. Police seized two cars, 10 mobile phones and Rs 15,000 in cash. Kuvempunagar police have registered a case.

One drowns

One person drowned at Balmuri in Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Nagaraju (32) hailing from Goragunji in K R Nagar taluk. The incident occurred when Nagaraju was trying to save two children from drowning. Even though the children were saved, Nagaraju drowned. KRS Police have registered a case.
