Eating a chutney made of ants? Hunting down your own rat for lunch? Swimming through a cave filled with water to be able to visit a temple?

Fishing, not with rods, but just with the help of sand? Sounds bizarre?

Well, this is exactly what the show ‘It Happens Only In India’, presented by actress Sugandha Garg, is all about.

Watch the talented Sugandha as she takes you through different parts of India, undiscovered till today.

She also unravels quirky facts, people and rituals about our very own country. The actress and host, who was in the City recently to promote the show, spoke
to Metrolife about her experience of being a part of it.

Filled with excitement, she says, “This has been a huge learning experience for me.”
Not only has this show helped her discover the diverse faith, cuisine and
culture of India, but it has also helped her fulfill a dream she has had ever since she
was a little girl — that of being a travel journalist.

“To be able to travel and end up getting paid for it, is the best offer ever,” she gushes.
Working with Fox Traveller before on the show ‘What’s With Indian Men’, has pushed her to be who she is.

‘It Happens Only In India’ is all about reality, from her as a person, to every place
in India that is shown, just the way it is.

When asked what the best part of her experience has been so far, Sugandha says,
“A place is defined by its people. So definitely the people have been the best!”

She informs that everyone in every place they visited, has been so warm and
welcoming not only to her, but to her extended crew as well which has helped them
in many ways.

“I do not want to be known as an anchor, but rather as a traveller,” she exclaims.
“I want to show our country just the way it is, with no added masala,” she adds.

According to Sugandha, people watch a show not based on how glamourous it is but how much content it generates.

She believes this show will be interesting and funny and leave people asking for more.
“I do what I want and nothing can stop me,” says Sugandha, who has never
limited herself her whole life and pursues many dreams.

Along with this, she is aiming at finishing her mountaineering course and soon being able to climb the Mount Everest.

She also wants to learn the guitar and write.

“Travel in your own country first before deciding to go abroad. It definitely deserves a look,” is the advice Sugandha leaves us with.
