<p>Luxury car maker Audi India today launched a new version of its largest selling sedan A4 in both petrol and diesel variants at a starting price of Rs 27.33 lakh.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The German car-maker expects to realise a significant portion of its sales target of 8,000 units for the year to come from the new A4.<br /><br />"Our annual volume for this year is 8,000 units. We are looking at a minimum of 2,500 A4s to be sold this year, both the old and the new versions," Audi India head Michael Perschke told reporters after the launch of the new version.<br /><br />He said India is the fastest growing market worldwide for the company and the A4 model currently accounts for 43 percent of its total sales.<br /><br />In the January-April 2012 period, Audi sold 2,831 units against 1,986 in the corresponding period last year.<br /><br />Audi's models here include A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8L, Q5, Q7, RS5 Coupe, A-TT, the super sports car R8 and the R8 Spyder.<br /><br />Besides, the company plans to launch at least five-six new models including the S6 model, Perschke said.<br /><br />"We plan to roll out five to six models, including the S6, which is expected to hit the market around the festive season," he said.<br /><br />To achieve the target volumes, the company has also plans to expand the dealership network to 25 this year from 18 now, he said.<br /><br />About growth for the luxury car market, Perschke said it is likely to be a bit choppy adding at best the segment is expected to clock 20 percent growth with Audi accounting for significant part of this growth.</p>
