These were arrested and released by the police.During the protest Youth Congress members demanded the State government to appoint the Lokayukta as soon as possible.

Controlling corruption and supply of adequate seeds and fertilizers for farmers were
some of the other demands kept forth by the protesters.

“Because of the improper Below Poverty Line (BPL) card distribution system, eligible are not getting government facilities. Many are not getting ration. Old age pension, pension for physically challenged and widow pensions are not reaching the needy on time,” said a protester adding that state-wide protest was organised because the State has not acted on the issues despite the Congress seeking action of the same several times in the past.

A memorandum was submitted and Congress workers warned of intensifying the agitation across the State in future if the government fails to fulfill the demand.
