The police also seized records pertaining to a bungalow, which he had constructed using ransom money in Kameshwarinagar in Chittor, Andhra Pradesh and confiscated it.
Korangu had kidnapped industrialists – Suresh Babu of Hanumanthnagar, Rajesh and Santosh Gowda of Malleshwaram for ransom. He took them to Chittor, tortured them and collected a ransom. He collected Rs 10 lakh from Rajesh and Rs 2 lakh from Devaraj of Vyalikaval.
Of the Rs 12 lakh, he gave Rs 7 lakh to two of his associates-Giri and Vasanth to lend the same on interest. He released Gowda after he sold Gowda’s car. The police recovered Gowda’s car worth Rs 1.5 lakh, as well as another car which Korangu had used to kidnap Gowda. He gave Rs 1.5 lakh earned by selling the car to Satish of Vyalikaval to lend the same on interest. The police have recovered both the cars and money given to lend on interest.
