<p>Four-time MLC Ramachandra Gowda of the BJP filed his nomination papers from the Bangalore Graduates’ constituency on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Ministers Suresh Kumar, R Ashoka and Govind Karjol and several Bangalore legislators were present when he submitted his papers to the returning officer.<br /><br />Gowda is pitted against Ramojam of the Congress and A Deve Gowda of the JD(S) in the constituency with a voter base of around 80,000.<br /><br />Ramachandra Gowda, a former minister, has declared his assets to be worth Rs five crore. <br /><br />The assets include a bungalow at Basaveshwaranagar and agricultural land near Hessarghatta. His wife Yashodha has declared assets worth Rs 2.3 crore.<br />May 23 is the last day for filing nomination papers, while the polling is scheduled for June 10.<br />Gowda resigned as the deputy chairperson of the State planning board, on Thursday. As per rules, a candidate should not hold office of profit. <br /><br />Though the chairperson’s post does not considered as office of profit, he tendered his resignation a day before filing his papers.<br /></p>
