Traffic cops bag award

The City Traffic police have received ‘Manhattan IIMM SCM Innovation Award’ for the best innovation in Supply Chain Management for the year 2012 (government / public sector).

The award, presented by Indian Institute of Materials Management, Bangalore, here on Friday, is in recognition of adopting innovative techniques in enforcement of traffic rules.

The online electronic challaning and fine collecting system is the key component of Innovative Enforcement System.

The City Traffic Police have issued 14 lakh notices and collected more than Rs nine crore as fine from the traffic offenders in 2011-12 through the new system.
