Two foreigners go missing in Muthathi

 Two foreign nationals have gone missing from Muthathi forest in the taluk on May 19. The incident came to light on May 21.

The missing foreign tourists have been identified as Turtun Ian Richard  from Poland and Michelle David John Easten from Europe. Richard was working in Tenneco Automotive India Private Limited in Tamil Nadu as planning manager, while Michelle was working  in Shell Company, Bangalore.

The duo had gone boating along with GPS enabled air boat in
Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp. However, it is not known whether they went missing during boating or trekking in the forest.

According to the information provided by the driver of Richard, the company informed forest ranger S Jayaprabhu over the incident.

A section of staff from Tenneco arrived in Muthathi on May 21 and also launched a search for them, but in vain.

SP Koushalendra Kumar, additional SP Rajanna, Dy SP M K Uthappa, circle inspector Krishnappa and PSI Dhanraj visited the spot.

A case has been registered at Halgur police station.
