Youth Cong to stage protest against failure of state govt

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, District Youth Congress Committee President Arun Coelho said the government has not yet announced support price to arecanut. Though the government has promised to start Police Commissionerate in Mangalore by August 15, nothing has materialised so far. The problems related to power, ration cards, corruption in developmental works continue to hanut the people of the state.

He said “the works undertaken under PMGSY scheme is of poor quality. Lot of corruption is involved in all the roads works undertaken by the Mangalore City Corporation within the city limits. Government has failed to look into the matter related to dropping the name of Dakshina Kannada in the scheme which aimed at supplying electricity to the poor,” he added.

The youth Congress will also protest against the hike in fee at Government Wenlock hospital and poor condition of the road in the district.

He said a token protest against the deplorable condition of the road was held in front of City Hospital in city on Monday.

The road is in the same condition for the past one year.
Coelho said as per the direction of Party High Command, Block Youth Congress Committee will be reconstituted. A convention will be organised in every Assembly constituencies every month.
