Now, KEA logs on to Facebook

Last Updated 25 May 2012, 20:26 IST

You got a query on the Common Entrance Test (CET)? Don’t know how the online counselling will pan out?

Now, you don’t have to run from pillar to post to know what’s happening in the CET, or the nitty-gritty of the seat selection process.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) which conducts the CET and other examinations, has logged onto Facebook. Its mission is “Trust through total transparency.” The KEA will keep students updated on CET and the newly introduced Online Option Entry and Automatic Seat Allotment Procedure. The KEA opened the account on the social networking site recently, and no less than 760 people have already liked the initiative.

The KEA will regulary post updates, links, etc, on the Facebook page. To begin with, it has provided its e-mail ID, the website address, and a brief information on its history. Besides, it has given links to the CET-2012 brochure, among other things.
The initiative has been taken up by the KEA Executive Director, Rashmi V Mahesh, who is on a mission to bring transparency in the system.

The Facebook page has been created to boost the KEA’s well-maintained website (www.kea.kar.nic.in). It would help the students post queries, seek clarifications, etc, on various aspects related to the CET, the results of which are to be declared on June 6, 2012.

The KEA’s presence on the social networking site, however, is not yet robust. Although visitors to the Facebook page have begun posting comments, the KEA is yet to respond to them. The anomaly is expected to be set right in the next few days.

To visit the page, search for the Karnataka Examinations Authority on your Facebook page.
