<p>A 35 year-old woman was arrested in Rajasthan for duping at least a dozen men whom she married before disappearing with gold and other valuables, police said on Monday. Three men who helped her have also been arrested.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Savitri Devi, a resident of Maharashtra’s Akola and her accomplices, Lakhveer Singh, Shivram and Biraji Lal, belonging to Madhya Pradesh were arrested on Monday in Bundi, 200 km from Jaipur.<br /><br />“Complainant Bihari Lal Meghawal had registered a first information report with police that she married him a week ago and was trying to run away with cash when he caught her,” said a police officer.<br /><br />He added that Savitri’s three accomplices had played the role of mediators when the marriage was arranged.<br /><br />“After lodging the FIR, we came to know that a racket of duping bachelor men was active in the area,” the officer said.<br /><br />It came up during preliminary investigation that Meghawal had paid the three men Rs 50,000 for the marriage. <br /><br />“The woman has duped at least a dozen men in various parts of the country by marrying them and then disappearing with cash and other valuables soon after,” said the officer.<br /><br />Police have seized some jewellery from them. Others involved in the racket have also been identified and the hunt is on to nab them.</p>
