Sindhu Loknath is the talk of the town. The talented budding actress, who loves to pick scripts that are very dramatic, is working in a Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar production, Nan Lifealli at the moment.

She is also looking forward to the release of ‘Sandalwood Sa Ri Ga Ma’. The actress is getting acquainted with the Kannada film industry.

She does not believe in acting classes and is of the opinion that no one can teach a person to express the emotions.

“Some people watch movies for the costumes, some for the sceneries but I love watching the actors for the expressions they portray and their talent. That’s how I learnt how to act,” says Sindhu.

Her favourite Kannada actress is Manjula and outside Sandalwood, her favourite is Cameron Diaz. As she mentions this, she smiles, recalling how she enjoys watching their movies.

As far as work is concerned, she wants to concentrate on her scripts. She doesn’t enjoy being the lead actor if the character does not have substance, but she is looking forward to other challenging roles.

“The film industry is very hero-oriented and it will have a heroine only for the glamour effect. I’m looking for roles that have importance,” she says.

Apart from acting, watching and collecting a lot of movies, Sindhu loves travelling during her free time. “I love nature and enjoy vacations. Goa is my favourite holiday destination and I make sure I visit Goa at least twice a year,” she says.

She’s not fussy about food and eats anything that’s served on the platter. Her favourite dish is chicken biryani while her daily diet includes ragi and little rice.

She says she doesn’t hit the gym to work out, but prefers the treadmill at home.

Although she doesn’t consider herself a fitness freak, her mantra is to eat well and exercise well.

She has some advice for those who are struggling their way into the film
industry. “Don’t give up. Keep striving, no one can become a star overnight.”
