HDK says Siddu will make 'apt' decision

Last Updated 01 June 2012, 17:13 IST

Responding to the resignation of Congress leader Siddaramaiah to the post of Leader of Opposition, JD(S) leader and MP H D Kumaraswamy said he was confident that Siddaramaiah would take apt decision, bearing his expertise and rich background in politics.

He was speaking to mediapersons before he set out to inaugurate his party office in Nagamangala in the district. Giving a rather ambiguous answer to the question whether Siddaramaiah would join JD(S), HD Kumaraswamy said time was inappropriate to answer the question.

“However, Congress party does not treat its people and leaders with due respect,” he said, adding this was the general feeling among party workers.

Stating that Siddaramaiah is an experienced politician who had gained experience as a statesman since ages, HDK said his party hopes to come back in solidarity with all the leaders who had built it earlier.

Criticising the Global Investors Meet, HDK said this was being done to pave way for more corruption.

“Proof for this lies in the fact that many agreements and MoUs signed in 2010 were still lying unexecuted, and as mere numbers,” he added.

MP N Cheluvaraya Swamy, MLAs B Ramakrishna, M Srinivas, Kalpana Siddaraju and others were present on the occasion.
