Three killed in car-tipper collision

In a tragic incident, three persons, including a couple from Kerala, were killed and one sustained injuries when a car rammed against a tipper, at Kolnad on National Highway near Mulky, in the wee hours of Monday.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Kunhi Ahammed Musliyar’s son Yusuf (58), Ayesha (42) and Ahammed (42). All were the  native of Puyivar in Thalassery of Kannur.

The car was bound to Manipal for treatment of Yusuf. It was said that there was a diversion to be taken on that stretch due to maintenance work on the National Highway. The driver miscalculated the speed while taking a turn at the diversion and rammed against the tipper.
The front portion of the car was almost under the tipper and two persons died on the spot. The woman, was thrown out of the car and died.

Yusuf is survived by four daughters and a son. Ahammed is survived by his wife and two children. A case has been registered.
