He was speaking at a press conference at his house in Kolar on Thursday.

Earlier, former minister A Krishnappa who was the Congress party observer during the election had expelled K Srinivas Gowda and others for supporting JD(S) in the elections and for the loss of president and vice president’s post.

Srinivas said that since he was AICC member Krishnappa didn’t possess the power to expel him and hence there was no question of expelling him.  Krishnappa didn’t call Zilla Panchayat members from my faction to meeting neither did he inform me. He didn’t even issue a whip to the members, alleged Srinivas Gowda.

Krishnappa is a puppet in the hands of K H Muniyappa, fumed Srinivas who said that disciplinary action against him could be taken only by the AICC.

Earlier former minister Chowda Reddy was also expelled from the party in the same manner by Krishnappa who acted according to the whims and fancies of K H Muniyappa, alleged Srinivas Gowda who said that Krishnappa and Muniyappa were partners in real estate business.

Even during the election to CMC’s president and vice-president posts there was difference of opinion in the Congress party and five of its members had voted against the party in the election. However none of them were expelled that time, wandered Srinivas Gowda who questioned present move of expelling members.

Defends himself

Defending himself Srinivas said that in the past Congress and JD(S) together had formed coalition government in the State. What is wrong if the same parties rule together in Kolar Zilla Panchayat, he questioned.

Strengthening his cause Srinivas said that Krishnappa was just a KPCC member while he was AICC member.

Srinivas said that it was during his tenure as minister that Congress had won 40 seats in the zilla panchayat elections in the then undivided Kolar district. After Hassan,  Kolar was the only district were Congress had so many zilla panchayat members. he added.

Union minister K H Muniyappa’s supporters have held the power at zilla panchayat for two consecutive time. Jannaghatta Venkatamuniyappa followed by A C Nagaratnamma and Ramachandrappa have enjoyed the power, expressed Srinivas who said that others had no scope.

Terming Muniyappa a cunning fox he said that former minister Chowda Reddy, K M Krishna Reddy, V Muniyappa, Venkatshiva Reddy, A Nagaraj, Sudhakar Reddy, Krishna Byre Gowda and he himself had been betrayed by the minister.

Muniyappa has always suppressed leaders who had a strong base in the district (Kolar), alleged Srinivas who said that Kolar had not seen development during his 18 years rule.
Alleging Muniyappa of being corrupt he said that Union Minister had tried to lease the gold mines at KGF with aid from his son and by forming a society. However the matter the is now being enquired by CBI, he added. He said that Shiradi ghat road repair works was also being probed by CBI.

He said that May 16 will be last day for all the conspiracies of Muniyappa, after which Congress party will be purified with his defeat.
